Hello, my name is Cansu Gönül, I am 22 years old, born in Ankara, and currently pursuing my studies in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University. Since my childhood, my interest in the world of science has driven me to conduct in-depth research in this field. The courses I have taken at school, the projects I have participated in, and various volunteer activities have further strengthened this interest. The main reason I chose this department is my desire to follow the evolving technologies in biotechnology and healthcare, and to develop projects that contribute to society in these fields.
My family has always instilled in me a love for learning. From a young age, I developed an interest in books and began acquiring knowledge from various disciplines. Reading books, especially in the fields of biology and technology, has provided me with different perspectives. Therefore, I am always open to learning new things and enjoy reflecting on new ideas. The courses I have enjoyed most in my academic life are those that directly impact human life. This is why my interest in biotechnology and health sciences, especially in projects aimed at improving human health, has grown steadily over time.
Additionally, during my university life, I have not only focused on academic studies but also placed great importance on my personal development. For example, I enjoy activities such as boxing, traveling, ballet, and participating in volunteer work, which have helped me maintain a balanced life. Through these activities, I have had the opportunity to interact with different cultures and collaborate with various communities. Every experience has contributed to my growth, both as an individual and as a team player. In particular, volunteering has allowed me to realize the great sense of satisfaction that comes from helping others and contributing to society.
Personally, my desire to help others and create a better society has always been a strong motivation in my life. One of the reasons I am applying for graduate programs is to deepen my expertise in a multifaceted and impactful field like biotechnology and to engage in projects that provide societal benefits. In line with this goal, I aim to continue my personal development while also guiding my career.
Among my goals is not only to acquire technical knowledge but also to work on projects that will improve people’s lives, thereby creating a greater impact. Following developments in the healthcare sector and making these advancements more practical to create solutions that can be applied in daily life is one of my long-term objectives. In this process, I aim to further develop my creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
